Rugby, Rugby, Rugby!!

BYU Rugby's team made it to the national championship this year. Greg looked into and I guess BYU has made it the past few years and plays Cal every year for the championship, and this year was no different. They were playing up at Rio Tinto and we decided to go. My best friend works there and hooked us up with tickets.

We decided to make it a date night and wanted to head up early to go to dinner at my favorite Chinese restaurant in West Jordan. But we didn't leave as early as we wanted to. We were doing some yard work and it took a little longer. Greg and to put in a new sprinkler.. fun.

Greg and Aaron hard at work.

So once we finally got up there we didn't have enough time to eat dinner there... but lucky for us they do take out! So we got some take out and drove out to Rio Tinto. We ate are food in the car and had so much fun fun.  What a great date, eating dinner in the car.

We didn't have a lot of time to eat so Greg was still a little hungry when we left. We picked up our tickets and sat down just in time for the game to start. My awesome friend got us some pretty good tickets. I was so happy!

The only bad thing about are seats is that they were right in the sun... but that kept me warm for the whole game!

Rugby is an intense sport! It is so rough, I was getting sore just watching it. Greg and I don't know a lot about rugby and didn't know the rules. We gradually started picking it up and understanding what was going on. There was a guy in front of us explaining it to the guy in next to him. So that helped a lot!!  We watched the game and had a blast. Unfortunately BYU didn't win. But it was so much fun and we loved it. They played pretty well but were just not as good as Cal.. but according the the guy in front of us the refs were not that fair.  But I don't really know.

We stayed a little after and and watched the trophy ceremony.  The BYU team come over to our side were all their fans were. It was pretty cool.  I wish they would have won, but we had so much fun that night. I just love date nights!

Anniversary weekend!!

Our anniversary was on a Thursday so there was not a lot we could do. We went out to dinner to Ruby River and had the best dinner. It was so good!! That was our little celebration, and it was so much fun. We had been planning to go riding with Greg's family that Saturday and we were so excited. Greg's dad had just bought a new trailer and told us that we should go Friday to test it all out. So after work on Friday Greg and I headed out. We had so much fun that night with just the two of us. It was a great one year anniversary weekend.

Me trying to get warm and refusing to put on a hoodie.

Greg's mom had packed us a nice little surprise for our anniversary. She packed us a candle, cake, and some Martinelles with a cute note for us. It was so nice of her and we were happy to get it. But we didn't find it until we were going to bed and decided to save it for breakfast. So for breakfast we had cake and Martinellies. Delicious!!

She even packed us plates, place mats, and goblets. She went all out for us!

After breakfast Greg and I headed out in the Rhino for a little ride. We headed down the road and ended up running into the rest of the group that was meeting us down there.

We all sat around for while talking and having a good time. I love going with this group because you are always laughing. But don't do anything stupid or you will never live it down!

After lunch we decided to go out on our first ride of the day. We got ready and headed out to Porter Rockwell's cabin. It was a short ride and was such a cool place. The cabin was so old and had some shed's and corrals around it. We explored for awhile and took some pictures.

This was the crew that went! We had so much fun.

Greg and I in front of the cabin

Ty and I in the basement

I wanted all of us to stick out butt's out...Rex was not down with that.  Lame!

So we took a normal picture....but Ty still wanted to stick his butt out.

I'm pretty impressed with Andy's talent of jumping out of a window.

After we played around at the cabin for awhile we decided to head back to camp. We decided to take a different route back and had a lot of fun. It was longer and a little more difficult. We went through the dunes and dune riding on a dirt bike is so much harder then on a four wheeler!! We also had to go up and down a pretty big rocky hill. I was almost to the top when my front tire hit a rock and I tipped over. I was so mad that I was so close and didn't make it. Rex came and took the bike up the rest of the way and then down. There is no way I would have made it down. I am not that great on a bike yet and it was very rocky. So after that they decided to ride all of the girls bikes up and down the hill. That made me fell better. I wasn't the only one that couldn't do it. And I almost did!

Look at those clouds coming in!! We saw the storm coming and we're still a ways from camp, so we needed to hurry. The storm started to hit and it got really cold and windy. And this is when we hit that big rocky hill. So not only was the scary, it was also extremely windy and cold. So that was a little more difficult. So once all the bikes were up and over the hill it started to rain, and it started to rain hard. Every one started back to camp and Greg and I were taking up the rear. I started going and I could not shift out of first gear!! It was freezing, windy and raining, this is the last thing that we need. We stop and realize that when I tipped on the hill my shifter and got pushed in. So Greg, the muscley  man that he is pulled the shifter back into place so that I could actually shift!! We caught up with everyone and headed back. After about an hour of rain and hail we decided to start a fire and dry out.

All of us standing by the fire

Cindy, Greg and me.

We we're all so wet!!

Once we finally dried out we decided to take one more ride before it got dark. Rex and I had both been to Cherry Creek before and knew of a cool pond thing that we wanted to go to. But neither of us could remember where it was. It had been so long for both of us, but we set out to try and find it. We didn't find it but had such a fun ride anyways.

We found this way cool tree that grew in all sorts of weird directions. We played on it for awhile and had so much fun. The Shield boys really kept us entertained. I like those boys!

Yes Greg and I found another old car. We have so many pictures of us in old cars! I need to start making a collage of them!

We ate dinner and then sat around the campfire for a little longer while. We were planning on leaving pretty late that night so I knew I would get home late. I just wasn't planning on getting home at 2:30 in the morning. On the way home one of the trucks got a flat tire about 1 mile from camp. So we fixed that and headed out. Once we got off the dirt road and on to pavement we stopped to check the trailers and make sure everything was still tied down. One of the trailers tire axle was smoking. So all the guys got out to check it out. They were out there for a while deciding what to do. They decided that the trailer would not make it back to camp, so the took it and hide it in the trees and locked it to a tree. The axle was worn out and needed to be replaced. They were going to come back the next day and get it. So once we did all that we were on our way with no more problems.

We had such a fun anniversary and I can't believe we have been married a year! It has been such a fun year and I can't wait for the years to come.

One Year Down!

Greg and I have been married for one year!!

It has gone by so fast, but at the same time it feels like we have been together forever! Its a crazy feeling, but I love it.  This past year has been great, we moved into our apartment, started school and have had lots of fun trips. We have been through some hard times and some great times. Luckily our great times far surpass the hard ones.

I have been preparing my lesson for Sunday this week, and it hit me today that the topic applies to me. Mate Selection. I have been going over so many talks about dating and chosing a mate that you want to marry.

"This will be the most important decision of your life, the individual whom you marry."
 President Gordan B. Hinckly.

It really is such a huge decision! And while preparing for this lesson I just kept thinking on what a great decision I made. Greg is the best husband in the world for me! He has been so patient and does so much for me. I have so much fun with him and love him so much. I have learned so much from him and continue to everyday.  I could not have married someone better.
He is a great husband, therapist, doctor, friend, comedian, teacher, housekeeper, athlete, chef , landscaper, babysitter, student, worker. He is so great at everything...well minus doing my hair. He struggled with that.
But I am so happy Greg and I got married. It has been a great year and I am excited for the many years to come!
We have a fun weekend planned. I will try and post about it next week!
